A challenge from another school in India

Friendly run/walk/swim/bike/skate competition

One of the schools which our Raptor Swim Club usually competes against has challenged the AISC community of students, parents, and staff to a race.  Stonehill International School in Bangalore has challenged us to fill 30 minute time slots on September 4th during which time people can walk, run, swim, cycle, or otherwise get out (or on a treadmill).  All participants need to do is fill in this form for the time slot they want, and then on the 4th we'll log our distances.  You're encouraged to use an app or fitness tracker to better log your distance.  Each line should be one individual, and a family could fill in multiple adjacent time slots to go for a longer time -- just put different family members on each line.  We'll reach out to those that sign up with more details.  While this is called "Pass the Baton" there will not be any baton to pass, you do not need to be anyplace specific, just be active in the time slot you choose.

This year's team

The Athletics and Activities department has had some changes made for this year.

Ms. Monicka, who is starting her 5th year in the department has been promoted to our ASA Program Director.  She will still support the operations of the other aspects of the department as well.  So everything ASA, programs during our breaks and JumpStart all route through her.

Mr. Cristian Luca, who is starting his 10th year at AISC will continue his Middle School PE Teacher role while also acting as the Associate Athletics and Activities Director.  He will focus on the middle school programming such as our ASIAC activities.

Mr. Balajee Ginjapalee continues as our Sevai Coordinator for everything service learning, but also expands to help with coverage of all HS clubs.  His connections in the local community ensure that clubs are able to be more effective in helping students pursue their interests.

Starting off the year!

Student Life

Last year we began to recognize that many of the things that we needed to do for the student experience on campus were interconnected. The coordination between the health office and food service and the other departments needed to ensure student safety had to work closer together than ever. Out of that the idea of connecting elements of student life outside of the academic experience came. The Athletics and Activities department is not changing. We're connecting closer with other parts of the student experience. And so this year you'll see more information from those areas in this communicaiton.

ES and MS ASAs

For Season 1 of virtual ASA’s, all offerings are FREE of charge for AISC ES & MS students.  Registered students will be asked to attend all sessions of the program.  Please do not register for programs that you or your child are not committed to attending as space is limited in some.

  • The ASA Fair web page will provide video descriptions from the instructors about the content and details of their offerings. Here is the web page link to watch the introduction videos and to access the registration link.

  • ASA programs will be offered at 4:00 - 5:00 pm (IST) on all weekdays and 9 am - 12 pm on Saturdays.

HS Club and Activities

This year, we have 25 clubs and a few more new ones coming up shortly! You have learned about it and you have made your choice of clubs. In the coming week, clubs will be able to fix their meeting times and get started right away. If you are a 9th grader or new to AISC, here is the link to the AISC club webpage to know more about the clubs and activities.

Is your club interested in offering an ASA program for MS/ES or interested in working with local schools and NGOs?
